The first video I ever shot and cut! I shoot this video n favor of Hidayah's FYP. Although this 1 minute cut is just for fun. Hidayah's Final Cut will be coming soon, and I'll definitely share it!
In case you're wondering, my cut are really gibberish and don't make any sense at all... You're right. That would be because I just slip in shots which I think is beautiful. In case you're still wondering, Hidayah is going to use this shot for her perfume video ad for her FYP. Maybe that'll make a little more sense to you. :-)
Special thanks to Hidayah, Michelle, Shika and Diyana making all these possible! Shooting video are harder than I expected, but I really had fun. Enjoy!
6 months ago, I joined Evo Pictures as an intern. I was so excited about it all. I was thinking about one step nearer to the movie industry. Back then my supervisor told me, we are making advertisements, and movies. You had any idea how excited I was that moment? My heart was jumping with joy!
A month later, I went for the first shoot. It was a long boring shoot. All I remember from that shoot was “Oh no! I missed the Goal!”. Yeah, that pretty much sums up the whole experience.
But I was burning since then. I want to be a part of the film industry. It was then I realize I was not even half a step in it. I was so far away. I realized that this is a hard road to take. It’s not even easy stepping foot in this industry from where I stand now.
So I discussed all I can with my supervisor, Director Michael Chuah (Seed of Darkness, Fist of Dragon). He told me to start off small. Make some short films. Make way through some film festivals.
I’m going to do these. I’ll shoot my short film. I want this so badly. But to make it works, I'm gonna need all the help that I can get.
So, y’all readers, wish me all the best.
I know this is a bit unrelated, but I really had fun making videos now.
I shoot this particular video for fun when helping out a friend with her FYP Video Ad.
I heard about the 2nd Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2010 from Lan and we decided to go together. After all my assignments and exam, I was really extremely tired , but then I thought, this might be fun. I haven’t been shooting for quite some times now, so this may be my chance. Thus it’s proven my skill karat-ed d.
Instead of going with Lan, I went with Sze Mun, Arep and his girlfriend. Lan and his twin brother took off earlier with their aunt. In the end, we didn’t even get to get a glance of them at the event.
Arep dan bininya.
Before I reached that place, I thought I’d see many floating balloons on the sky or something like that. I know now that I’m too naive because when I reach that place at 3pm, the sky was empty. All I saw was a glider floating around.
Do you notice there's no landing gear on dis glider?
Yep. There’s no landing gear for this glider! The ‘pilot’ will need to catch this thing bare handed! He did it in three attempts. It must have taken loads of training to achieve a skill like that.
The first two attempt to catch it failed. 3rd attempt, and GOTCHA!
Then they introduced us something I’d never seen before in this life. It’s basically an RC Chopper unit, but it’s much more sophisticated than just that. It’s called 3D Extreme Helicopter. OMG. It should be called Extreme Bouncing Helicopter instead. It flies and bounce around, like there’re a million invisible wall around it. Really cool. You'll see that the chopper is sometimes upside down, flying sideways, diving down, and a lot more stunt that I can't explain with words!
This is how the 3D Helicopter look like.
That's the pilot and his chopper! I made this panorama by stitching three pictures together.
And THIS is how it MOVES. You just can't predict it's movement!
Then they present us with the Paramotor. I thought it was funny when my gf linked Paramotor with Paralimpik. Especially when one of the pilots came out like this:
Lol. No offense to the pilot, but it really look like a wheelchair to me.
By the moment they try to fly this Paramotor, I was feeling dehydrated already. All I can think of at the moment was "Water... water... coke... coke...". I was afraid that if I go off to buy a drink, I would miss the opportunity to see how they fly this wheelchair Paramotor. They took quite sometime before they get to fly it due to the constant change of wind direction.
The frustrated pilot and his land crew.
Hehe... I bought our drinks at last!
Took-off at last!
Notice the difference between this paramotor and the previous one?
If you haven't, this paramotor had no wheels. The pilot of this unit had to run during take-offs and landings. We're also told by the MC that this paramotor engine is self made by the pilot. They didn't last long in the sky. The weather turn bad, and they had to land!
This kid couldn't take her eyes away from the floating objects!
After the Paramotors, the ain't much to see, so we wander off to the booths. They're so some games that you can participate if you're willing to pay a sum of money.
For example, you can drift like this kiddo if you pay 15 bucks if I remember correctly.
Then come the interesting part! The balloons! I'd never seen any balloon up-close so I was really excited. =D They're colorful, and they're many other design other then the conventional ones! There's one with Darth Vader's head as the design, but i never got to shoot it.
Now guess what design this hot air balloon had?
It's a lion! My biebie took this video!
There's even orange!
Another video from my biebie's phone!
And even Levi's pants hot air balloon. =D
This gurl is continuously saying "bye-bye" to the speckie balloon.
There're lots of them, and i can't squeeze them all into one photo!
So that's all from me. Actually I haven't fully recover from all the fatigue and still feel sleepy from time to time. That's why this post came slow. =)
